My Collection: Palettes

Heey,

Today I am doing another addition of the 'My Collection' series and this week, it's palettes! I only included my big palettes because I do have a lot of duo eye shadows, trio, quad and single, but I'm only showing you 7 palettes today.

Just a side note to say a big THANK YOU because on Saturday I hit 2000 pageviews! I know that to some people that's nothing but recently I've been getting a few pageviews (20-30) on days when I haven't posted which is quite different for me, but a nice surprise, nevertheless. I would love to know how you are reading my posts (a friends recommendation, instagram, accidentally etc.) comment your answer.

OK. On with the palettes...

1) Claires 48 colour eye shadow palette

I'm getting this out of the way first because it's not the nicest palette in my possession. I got this about 4 years ago when I was a feeble 9 year old who liked to experiment with colour. I remember once wearing a bright green top and then found the bright green on the bottom row of this palette and I thought it was so cool because it matched! I do have to admit that even though all the colours are sparkly, it does have great pigmentation! 3/5

2) Woodlands Escape eye shadow and lip gloss palette

This is a great little go-to palette when I want to create a very basic eye. I have already done a review of this palette, so if you want to see that, the link is HERE or go to my 'reviews' tab at the top and you can see a few mini reviews that I might start doing more often. To sum up this palette I would say, great pigmentation, I got it as a gift but I would expect this to be quite cheap. 4/5

3) The Colour Workshop eye, cheek and lip palette

This is one of the first palettes that I ever owned and I think I bought it in Portugal?!?!? It has 14 eye shadows, 2 blushes, a pressed powder/bronzer and 4 lip glosses (it also came with a few of those annoying small brushes that I'd always take out). As you can see it has a big mirror which is useful and because this palette has the 4 different products in it, this can be quite useful when going on sleepovers. Colour pigmentation is average but not amazing however, sometimes it's nice because you might not want to have a strong look. 4/5

4) & 5) MUA palettes Heaven and Earth / Dusk till Dawn

I love this palette, Dusk till Dawn, because the colours are all quite different. The top row is all day time, neutrals but the bottom row is much more of a night time or going out set of colours. This palette was my first one from MUA and it cost me £4. Colour pigmentation is amazing, the colours are all shimmers but quite discrete and pretty, not in your face glitter! I think this is an amazing palette, although, I would never use the bright aqua colour! 4.5/5

Ohh, this palette makes me swoon! Heaven and Earth is one of my all time favourite product from MUA and my second favourite palette. I am much more of a neutrals girl than an out there gal so this palette suits me perfectly because although the colours are once again, mostly shimmers, they are easy to blend and very pigmented. 5/5

6) Royal All Things Nice eye shadow palette

Hands down. My favourite palette ever. I do have a few things to say, firstly, this was given to me by my sister and it was her that used all the baby blue eye shadow, I can only imagine what that looked like! Plus, because it was hers, I don't know where she got this from or how much it is. The packaging on the front says Royal but that's all the information I have. However, I did find it on eBay, so click HERE for the link to buy this palette for £15. The reason I love this palette is because the colours are so amazing and the pigmentation is great, the mirror is big which is very handy and the packaging is sleek so it's great for sleepovers or holiday. Finally, a palette with matte colours! Some shimmer, some matte but both very wearable and just over all very pretty! 5/5

7) Marks and Spencers Shimmer face palette

Back to shimmers! Gosh, I do need to buy some more matte palettes! On the back of this palette it says: The ideal make -up collection tailor-made for you. This palette features 18 eye shadows, 12 lip colours, a flattering bronzer and 3 complexion enhancing cheek colours. Each of the shades can be worn alone or mixed together to create you own bespoke look. I do love this palette and as you can see it comes with an array of different colours. All, highly pigmented and very easy to wear, believe it or not. The coral blush is my favourite to wear, by the way, this palette has a pull out compartment at the bottom but the bronzer smashed and it made all the lip glosses look gross, so I decided not to show you.
4/5

That's it! All my major palettes! I do feel like I need to go and buy some more basic ones without shimmer but at the same time I feel like I have a lot of palettes and products that I don't use so buying more would be a bit of a waste!

Thanks for reading, please subscribe for another post on Wednesday.

Haul / Topshop, MAC, Boots, Lush, Primark and Beales

Heey, this might get long...

You must be getting bored of me saying this but, I went shopping with Zoe last weekend and I bought quite a few things I would like to show you!

The first place we went was Beales. Beales is a department store and I think they have quite a few stores in England but our local one is quite big and on the ground floor it has a beauty and accessories, the lower ground has home, then the above floors are things like clothing and I think it might have a cafe?

We went to the lower floor for get my Mum a present for Mothers Day (my last post was 'Mother's Day ideas' click HERE to see that post). I bought her a cute little plaque with a funny quote. This was £5 and I think that is such a good price for somethings as cute as that! They also have ones in other colours with other sayings on. Not only do they have these plaques but also other ones for around the same price.

After buying that, we went to the ground floor and straight to the MAC section. I wanted to buy the MAC Brush Cleaner for a while but I never got round to it. I finally had enough money, so I parted with my £10 and off I went with a new brush cleaner! If you wanted to know, I later on cleaned mine and Zoe's brushes and it was an amazing product. I will hopefully do a post on how I clean my brushes soon.

After MAC, we moved to Topshop. I love Topshop and all of the clothes in there, Zoe and I spend a long period of our life just dreaming of Topshop shorts and jeans because they are so perfect ;). But today I wasn't looking at clothes, I went to buy a lipstick. I have never owned a Topshop lipstick but I'd wanted one for ages so I finally went for it, handed over £8 and I was the owner of a brand spanking new 'Nevada' lipstick. The packaging is amazing and looks so pretty on my counter top. I feel like I will have more in my collection soon!

Lush was obviously next on our agenda (yes, the night before we planned our whole trip like it was a once in a lifetime opportunity). I looked on the website before I went so I had a good idea of what they had in their new Easter and Mothers day collection. I wanted either 'Inhale, Exhale' or 'Secret Garden'. I liked the look of both and the description. However when I got to the store I decided I didn't like the smell of Inhale, Exhale. £2.95 later and I had purchased Secret Garden. By the way, can we give Zoe a round of applause because she didn't buy anything from Lush. I think that's a first *clapclapclap*

I believe the next place we graced our presence was Boots, a favourite of ours, and we spent about half an hour in their just looking, swatching, looking again, swatching again, picking something up, putting it down because we didn't have enough money. We went through this painful process about 4 or 5 times before I came away with a new £4.19 Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer in shade 2/Cool Medium while Zoe walked out with 3 new Maybelline Colour Show Nail Polishes (if you're lucky, she might post about them).

We then went to New Look and tried on a few Spring/Summer dresses but, we couldn't really afford it, so we just admired. We did however go to Primark which was more in our price range (we had spent all our money on other things, we're not cheap! Okay, maybe a little bit) also trying on a few tops, shorts, dresses and whatnot. I picked up a really pretty Pink Floyd top (yes I do sometimes listen to their music). The top itself is quite sheer so I do layer it with a black vest top underneath. If you want to see what Zoe bought then click HERE to go to her blog and I'll try and get her to post a haul as well :) It's quite big and oversized but I love that style of top because I can tuck it into a pair of jeggings and I'm good to go.

Happy Wednesday to you, I hope you have a lovely day, subscribe for posts Saturdays and Wednesdays, I will speak to you, very soon for a new post about my favourite Lush products (by the way, if you want to see what my next posts are, I have a section on the right sidebar which will tell you whats coming up)

Hugs and kisses

Mothers Day Ideas

Heey,

On the the Sunday the 30th of March, it is Mothers day (or Mothering Sunday). If you have been on my blog before then you may know that it was recently my mum's birthday and I bought her a Pandora Charm but because it was so expensive, I decided that I would spend £20 on her birthday and the other £10 on Mothers day. I wanted to get her a little something to open on the day because otherwise it wasn't as as special.

A while ago, before Christmas, Zoe and I went shopping and went into unknown territory. Beales. Beales is basically a medium sized department store and it offers things like MAC make up, Benefit and other big make up brands, but also a bag department and other accessories. Downstairs is somewhere that I hadn't been to before. It's the home and gift section. They sell really cool things for you kitchen and house but also a big Yankee candle section. We spotted a small stand of plaques with little sayings on. Zoe bought one for her Mum when it was her birthday and it said: 'I love hugs and kisses, but I also love help with the dishes' or something along that line.

That is what I got my Mum for Mothers day but I thought I would include a list of things you could get your Mum!
A CD of her favourite songs
A photo frame with her favourite picture of the 2 of you
A personalized phone case
Her favourite perfume
Yankee Candle
Fancy Nail Vanishes

Happy shopping :)

Hugs and kisses

Little Changes

Heey,

WELCOME TO THE BEAUTY STUFF!

You may have noticed that my blogger has changed! I really love my new theme! It's a different background and different header (plus a different name). I changed my name for a few reasons, the most important was because I felt like it didn't really say anything about my blog, it was just a name that I made up when I was just thinking of blogging, if you read my first ever post, you can see that I wasn't very experienced!

Secondly I thought that even though I liked my layout, I preferred the purple space background that was on the header I made. Then thirdly, I do love everything that I have posted and I'm not ashamed because I know that I have improved massively. However, I do want to really put some effort into my posts because I feel like they have been slaking and I haven't been promoting it very much so the only subscribers I had were my close friends from school.

The least reason I changed it was because I have an Instagram with the name: @_thebeautystuff and I love my account, it has almost 100 followers and seen as I only made it just over a month ago, I was pretty proud! Anyway, I wanted everything to match (yes, I'm that type of person) so I created a new twitter as well which is also @_thebeautystuff.

That's all for today, I hope you don't mind the changes, please subscribe for new posts on Wednesdays and Saturdays!

Hugs and kisses,
Liv xoxo

P.S Because this post was so short, I will upload another one either later today or tomorrow xx

Shopping in Pandora!

Heey,

So first of all I would like to say a big happy birthday to my mummy. She's another year older today (1st March) and it's her 50th, so a very special occasion! As it was so special she decided on getting a keepsake she she could use everyday. This was a Pandora bracelet with charms.

Originally, my mum wanted a normal bracelet with charms from Pandora's new essence range. But it wasn't explained to her that these charms wouldn't fit the normal bracelet, only the essence bracelet! The reason this was an issue was because my Mum didn't like the essence bracelet and also, all my family were going to get her an essence charm and choose which one out of the list my Mum made. My sister Kate organised it all with how much everyone wanted to spend and then what charm they would give. So now everything had to change.

Sunday the 23rd of February, my mother, my sister and I went on a little trip to Pandora to sort this all out! Mum ended up with having to choose all new charms to fit the normal bracelet while my sister and I helped her (or hindered).

In the end, everything worked out and all the charms were sorted. This is the one that I found and my Mum loved, it was £30 so it's a joint birthday and mothers day, seen as they're so close!

I'm not sure on the name of this charm but it's 5 sterling silver hearts with little dot type things around the outside of each heart. The theme my Mum went for was plain silver with mother of pearl and one pendant in the middle.

That was a very expensive shop in Pandora but while my sister was paying, my Mum and I went to Waterstones which is an English book shop and she bought me 2 books which I will show you in my next post!

Hugs and kisses
