Review: The Fault In Our Stars

Heey,

This is the start of my review series. I wanted to start with something big. Something iconic. Something I love. The Fault In Our Stars. The book, written by John Green, who in my opinion should be made into a saint, was described as 'Electric...filled with staccato bursts of humor and tragedy.' - Jodi Picoult. The book is also a #1 New York Times Bestseller.

The film was released in America on the 6th of June and was extremely popular. It is officially being released in the UK on the 19th of June however, a week before the official release date, selected cinemas were showing a special preview with a Q&A as an extended part of the film. Viewers had to pay more for the ticket but were given a lanyard with Fan Screening Pass and an A2 poster. I was lucky enough to get tickets to this viewing. I went with my friend Amber, who was beyond excited about the whole thing.

The film was very true to the book and that's all I'm going to say about what happens because I don't want to spoil anything for the people who haven't read it yet, that's probably about 3% of the universe (it should be anyway). However I will say that Hazel Grace Lancaster and Augustus Waters were played extremely well by Ansel Elgort and Shailene Woodley.

As I said I saw the film when it had the fan screening event and because I loved it so much, I saw it again when it came out, fully. The first time I watched it I cried at the end but some people, cried all the way through *coughAmbercough*. The second time, I knew exactly how it was going to be and I didn't cry at all but got a bit teary. The second time I again, went with Amber but Zoe joined us as well and I was next next to them both just crying for 2 hours. Very embarrassing.

Overall I would say that the book is better than the film but only by a fraction because the film was  the best I have seen in a long time. It's rated a 12A and has slight swearing in it but I would say the audience is for anyone around the ages of 13-20 but obviously anyone can enjoy it and probably would!

I give The Fault In Our Stars 10/10

I hope you enjoyed today's post, it was sightly late but I hope you don't mind. I will be posting tomorrow because I have an exciting day planned so it will mainly be pictures.

Hugs and Kisses,
Liv xoxo

One Direction Concert 2014: An Overview

Heey,

On the 7th of June 2014, myself and 3 of my closest friends went up to London on a one direction adventure. We got the tickets over a year ago and have been counting down the days ever since. We had decided to make this night as special as possible. We ordered dresses, planned our make up and hair, booked a hotel in London  and a train to and from Waterloo Station.

On the Saturday morning with our bags all packed we headed off to the train station (we didn't go to London by ourselves, we did have some adult supervision from one of our Mum's). The train journey was very exciting because we knew that the destination would be Waterloo, a place 5 minutes away from our hotel where we would be getting ready to go to the concert. All very exciting indeed.

One of my favourite things about traveling, whether it be to the south of France of just 2 hours away to London, is walking into your room and lying on the bed. It was amazing. Not that the bed was anything special, just the fact that I was in London with my best friends and we were about to start a night to remember.

Before starting the 2 hour 'getting ready' section, we walked around the block and saw Big Ben and the London eye, we crossed the bridge and stopped to take pictures. We  also stumbled upon a street gambler with 3 tin cups, a foam ball and the attention of a small crowd. The 4 of us were getting quite annoyed with everyone as the placed their 'bets' and choose the wrong tin cup.

Getting back to the hotel and getting ready was extremely exciting, hectic and just amazing. We were all getting our make up bags our and frantically finding mirror space. As apart of this mini-series I will be showing you exactly what make up I wore as well as my hair and dress.

The tube was just as exciting as getting ready because we knew that we were minutes away from Wembley Stadium! The tube became packed and full of teenagers alike with excitement. I had never been to a concert like this before, I had never been to Wembley Stadium or even a stadium! This made everything more special than any other gig I've been to.

This was our view without zooming in
The sheer amount of people overwhelmed me. Around 80,000 people under one roof was enough to bring you to tears (that's what happened to Zoe). Then it started, the screens went to a massive red background with the '5SOS' written across it. I was almost going to puke with excitement [thankfully not]. The first song they played was 18, a new song on their new album. Then amnesia, Heartbreak Girl, She Looks So Perfect, Good Girls and Don't Stop, as well as a Katy Perry cover of Teenage Dream.

5 Seconds of Summer finished. The half and hour wait began. The half an hour wait finished. One Direction started. Screaming started and never finished.

I should probably do some explaining. As you now know, I went to One Direction on June 7th with my best friends and it was an amazing experience. I would suggest it to anyone. I thought that I could do a mini - series on my experience including, make up, hair, outfit and an overview of this whole thing. This is the overview. I am going to upload the hair and make up next Saturday then the Saturday after will be outfit and accessories.

Back again...

Heey,

You may have noticed that I took a bit of a break from posting because, being in school, I have end of year exams. I've been a little bit stressed about that and I have had 'bloggers block'. I didn't know what to write and didn't want to keep everything the same [I was doing a lot of hauls and monthly favorites]. I want to change it all up a bit and start new series and just make things more interesting.

I had a few ideas that I would like to share with you all. The first being a review series. I have a tab on my blog which will lead you to a new page where I share some of my thoughts on products. I have done a few reviews but only about 3 and they have been on bath bombs and make up. I haven't had many views on that page so I thought I would just have them all on here and then just put them onto my review bit after each post so all of the reviews can be in one place.

The next series I was thinking about is a 'Tips with Liv' thing where I would share a few tips/life hacks to just help you a little bit. It would add the 'life' section to my blog because I focus more on the fashion and beauty side of things at the moment. The tips can also be to do with fashion and beauty but I could also do some food-y things like 'best homemade chocolate chip cookies' etc.

My final thought is to start is a photography series. I have a Nikon Coolpix L820 [in plum, but that doesn't matter] and I really love taking photos on it. I don't do a lot of exciting things so the photography thing would be monthly and I would make a college of snaps I had taken that month.

I really hope that you'll like my ideas and my next post is something I have been working on for a while and it will hopefully be up on Saturday. Please subscribe and comment your thoughts on my thoughts (:

Hugs and kisses
