Soap&Glory Review | Solar Powder

Heey,

I recently bought a few things from Soap&Glory and today's review is the 'Solar Powder' bronzer. Look HERE to see part 1 of my S&G reviews on the Supercat Liner.

I love make up but bronzer is something that I kind 'bat away'. I have a bronzer from Maybelline and I do like it but I would say that the hint of sparkle and red undertones isn't something that I would use everyday. The Solar Powder was recommended by Gabby [velvetgh0st] and many more. She uses it daily and she always looks beautifully tanned and glowing.

The packaging is perfect. A great handbag size with a built in mirror makes for a great bronzer to take overnight. The actual product is split in half. One side a lighter more highlight-y colour and the other a darker shade. Mix them together and you have a beautiful bronze colour suitable for all skin types. - side note - the iridescent logo detailing comes off with the lightest of touches, so don't worry about purple cheekbones!

I give this product 5/5 stars
  • Cute packaging
  • Great colour pay-off
  • Handy mirror
  • Colour suitable for any skin tone - any time of year
  • Affordable
Thanks for reading, I also bought a new blush from S&G the other day so give this post a +1 if you want me to do another review.

Hugs and kisses,
Liv xoxo

Soap&Glory Review | Supercat Liner

Heey,

I recently purchased the Soap&Glory Supercat Liner and Solar Powder. I am going to do a review of the solar powder tomorrow so look out for that.

I bought this eye liner because I have heard a lot of people rave about it and I want to put it to the test.

Eyeliner is still not my strong point but the Supercat Liner has made it a hell of a lot easier! The felt tip means that there is the actual liquid surrounding the nib which I find better because it means I can use the side to create longer strokes. It dries quick enough so you aren't sat in front of the mirror for ages trying not to smudge it but not so quick that it is a pain to get any mistakes away.

The Supercat Liner does stay on all day, so there is no need to re-apply, although the shape of the sleek packaging makes it easy to take with you. As I have said, I am no expert in the eyeliner department, so I does take me a while to get it right. However, that doesn't mean this product is hard to apply, in fact it's quite easy, the shape of the product means you can hold it like a pen. Something I'm very experienced with.

I give this products 4/5 stars:
  • It's affordable
  • Easy to apply
  • Nice packaging
  • Very black in colour
However sometimes the liquid can leak and get over my hands. I'm not sure if that only occurs mine, but it's just a bit annoying.

August Favourites

Heey,

As September rolls in it is time for the monthly post of everything I have been loving for the past 30 days.

Books

When I went on holiday I read 6 books in 10 days which is quite the achievement for me because unless I'm in love with the book, I read really slowly. I read: Goodnight Mister Tom, Billy & Me, The Princess Diaries; Mia Goes Forth & Give Me Five, Divergent, Insurgent and Allegent.

My favourites were Billy & Me and The Divergent Series. I love the way that Giovanna Fletcher writes Billy & Me, it is one of the only books I've ever read that made me cry! [I didn't even cry at The Fault In Our Stars]. The story line is amazing and leaves you wanting more. It is also the same length as Divergent by Veronica Roth. I read all 3 books in August but my favourite was Divergent. I still think the others were good but I was hooked on Divergent. I also watched the film and much prefer the book but I'm still excited for Insurgent to come out!

Make Up

On the plane I bought the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Lip Protectant [wow, long name] for a lot cheaper than in stores, 8 EUROS! I have constantly had it in my purse even though I only have to apply it once in the morning then I'm set for the day. I'm normally someone who prefers lip balms to be in stick form because it's much easier to apply and then you don't have it all over your finger, but this one isn't very sticky and because you only have to apply it once, it's not too much of a nuisance.

My face is just a bundle of oil in the summer and I've found that using the No.7 Eye Base really helps keep my eye shadow in place. It is meant to be smoothing and brightening which I really agree with. You could just wear this alone of as a primer like I do. I apply this with a Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush or my finger but I find the brush nicer to apply with.

As well as the Lip Protectant I purchased the L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara. At first I thought it was quite a wet formula and didn't like it but then I watched Gabby's video when she included the mascara and said she didn't like it at first but let it 'dry out' for a week or so then loved it. I did the same thing and now it's the mascara I reach for everyday but I have to curl my lashes beforehand. I bought it at duty free so again it was a great deal, I got 2 of the mascaras and a free eyeliner for 15 euros. Amazing.

YouTube

I watch a lot of YouTube but recently I have found Gabby - Velvetgh0st. Many people have found her because she is friends with Zoe [Zoella] and has been in a few vlogs both on her main channel and side channel but I actually found her as a suggestion before they were even seen together. I have been obsessed with her and have slowly been watching all of her videos even to 2012! She is hilarious, gorgeous and I'm in love with her personality. I have bought so many things because of her recommendations and I have no regrets. I can't wait for her moving out vlogs to come!

I hope you enjoyed this post, I'm going to do these every so often when I have a lot of favourites otherwise they can get a bit boring.

Hugs and kisses
