What to do on a rainy day

I live in England so we have a lot of rainy days. So people may think we are an expert on 'living indoors' as I like to call it. But, not everybody knows how to make the most of rainy days.

I think that sunny days where you can go to the beach with friends or take a walk through the park, are great! In fact I prefer them to staying inside all day.

When I do stay inside though, I turn into a lazy slob! I'm trying to stop that though and do more exciting things like writing this blog. SO I thought I'd tell you What to do on a rainy day

1. Write a blog

I've just started this blog and have only done 3 posts but I'm finding this really fun! I think that anybody can do one EVEN YOU!
(I'm actually writing this post on a rainy day!)

2. Redecorate without paint

Redecorating doesn't have to involve painting your room or buying new furniture. You can redecorate with just your hands! As you can see in this picture, this person has 'redecorated' by just tidying up! I know you'll hate me for saying this...but you can always tidy your room!

If you have a pile of clothes on the floor, then you can always put them away, but if you can't for whatever reason, then just make the pile neat and tidy by folding them nicely or moving them to somewhere where it doesn't matter, for example, the bottom of your wardrobe.

Change your bed sheets, put up a poster, add a rug, organize your make up counter, open your curtains... these are all things you can do without spending a lot of money/any at all!

3. Cook!

How to make fairy cakes

I know that not everyone can cook a 3 course meal or bake a wedding cake, but everyone can make cookies or cupcakes and maybe even a chocolate cake, for the more advanced bakers!

Here's a quick and easy recipe for cute chocolate chip cupcakes:

Ingredients:

200 gramsStork or baking butter
200 grams(Golden) Caster Sugar
3Eggs (beaten)
1 tspVanilla Extract or any other flavoring
200 gramsSelf Raising Flour
1/2 tspBaking Powder
50 gramsDark Chocolate Chips (optional)
50 gramsMini Fudge Chunks (optional)

How to make chocolate chip cupcakes:

1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees 180ºC, fan 170ºC, gas mark 5.
2. Mix together the Stork or baking butter and the (Golden) Caster Sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Add the Vanilla Extract or any other flavoring and Self raising flour to the mix.
4. Mix the ingredients together whist slowing add the beaten eggs and baking flour.
5. When the mixture is smooth and all the same colour, add the Dark Chocolate chips and Mini Fudge Chunks if you are including these.
6. Bake these for 20 mins then take out and leave to cool for a few minutes before decorating however you want to :)

That's it from me today
Next post will be a beauty one :)

Hugs and kisses

Back to School

So, as we all know. School starts in September. I go to a Grammar school in England and we start school, around the beginning of September, usually the 5th.

Now, before we get started, I will put my virtual hands up and say "Yes, I do all these things every single year, even though, I say I won't!"

~Confessions of going back to school~

  • Buying a selection of new bags so that I can pick which one I want to use.
I do this, at the start of every school year! I prefer the shorter strapped bag because I find it nicer than a shoulder bag or the cotton ones you can get from Primark for £2! The bag I have for school this year is from Accessorize and it's a waterproof material with a navy blue background with little white rabbits on with tiny pink bows *awwww*
BUT, I got this at Christmas from my parents and I had 3 months before I could use it for school. So in the meantime I had a rucksack to kart around all my books, then I stepped into reality and decided that they weren't fashionable, plus the one I had was broken, ssssoooo! Then I moved onto a MASSIVE black and white, checkered bag with a short strap and a NON-waterproof material, resulting in all my books becoming wet and soggy, because England is oh so sunny, NOT!

  • Having way too many pens and pencils, that you end up having like, 4 pencil cases!
It's something that we all do! We come into school with 5 pencils, 8 pens, 2 rubbers, 3 sharpeners, 4 packs of felt tips and a bendy ruler. Then they all mysteriously disappear and you end up having to buy more than what you already need to, on top of what you bought to much of! It's just a bit ridiculous. However I still do it, apart from this year, I do still have the majority of what I bought at the beginning of the year, so well done me!

I think that's all for today and I will do a confession Wednesday where I will add more points to the ones I already have.

Hugs and kisses
