Marwell Adventures

Heey,

Recently I went to Marwell Zoo with my school and it was quite a fun experience that I would like to share with you all! Sorry I didn't have my camera to take pictures but Zoe had her iPhone and took loads so I will link her blog HERE where she will hopefully have some pictures up!

We got to school as normal and I cycled with Ambs and Zoe. We were aloud to wear mufti and I wore my Pink Jumper with jeggings and a cute top and accessorized with my fake converse.

We didn't get to explore much at the beginning, as we made our way to the science and learning center because unfortunately it was a school trip and we did have to learn something other than the smell of rhino poo!

We sat in a circle and I stupidly sat in front of the snake tank! I hate snakes! But it was OK because they were locked up and half asleep. In the learning center we watched a powerpoint on animal behavior and different study's that people have done over the years.

After that we did a mini experiment inside (still), about rats and there behavior. We had 2 female rats called Snowdrop and Daffodil that we had to look at every 30 seconds and write down what they were doing. It was OK but got a bit boring because my rat didn't move half the time.

After we did our 'practice' test we moved on to the bigger animals and studied Siamang Gibbon's which are a type of monkey, they were quite small and black, I thought they were really cute and were really calm. The study went on for about 10 minutes and it was OK but again, mine and Amber's monkey didn't do much!

After that we had lunch and played on the mini play park (like the 13-14 year olds we are) and it was really fun. Then we went back to the learning center and did a graph and all that jazz.

THEN the fun began, we ran away from our teacher at points to go and look at some animals, but we were at Marwell Zoo and what's the point of travelling for 1 hour if we aren't going to see anything! We ended up having a 10 meter ban ;) because our teacher got so 'disappointed' in us! One thing we did get to see was the Meerkats, which were our teachers favorites because we spent the longest there, we also saw the tigers, giraffes, leopard, cheetah and my personal fave, the Penguins!

The animals were really friendly and calm, the meerkats and penguins were so cute, I wanted to take one home with me! Overall the end of the day was the best! I bought 2 things from the gift shop, a leopard ruler and zebra pencil with the removable lead capsule type things!

Hugs and kisses
Liv xoxo
